Here is an exercise utilizing resistance bands to work on absorbing force with the glutes and hamstrings as well as working on single leg stability. Here I start high on my toes and drop to one leg as quickly and controlled as possible. Notice my arm swing helps me get down quicker and my arms are now in place to swing back up if I were to jump. Also notice how I stick the landing (avoiding extra hops and movements during landing). The faster an athlete can absorb force (efficiently) the more time he/she will have to produce force allowing for more explosive movements.
