When I get home from work, cooking is my way of relaxing and unwinding from my day and I get so much joy when a dish come together and look this damn good (Don't worry, my wife said it tasted good too).

Finally, I got my sourdough bread. Perfect and proper shape exactly what I expected.
It was born from the scratch. Flour, water and time. It took me more than a year to make and gave me more than 30 attempts and failures. It made me spend a lot of time to write and calculate for its own recipe.
Research, practice, adjust and repeat. Done by now and to be improved from now. .
Cooking always gratifies me.

Jan 16 is Fig Newton Day.
The manufacturing of Fig Newtons was made by inventor James Mitchell. His machine made a hollow cookie crust so it could be filled with fruit preserves. His machine was a funnel within a funnel. The inside funnel had jam and the outside funnel had dough. This produced an endless length of filled cookie, which could then be cut into smaller pieces.

The Kennedy Biscuit Company named the cookie - Newton, after the town in Massachusetts. The Boston company named many of their cookies after local towns.
